Barot, You Beauty.

Have you ever had those days when everything about your life makes you want to escape it and go to a place far away from all the hue and cry and drama that's been getting on your nerves? Well, I have had my share of chagrin in the past few months and after a constant chase between going for it or not, I threw my clothes in a bag and took off to ISBT to board a bus and leave for the first hill station that hits my mind. After a hell lot brain storming (not really) I finally got into the bus for Manali and came cross this yet another spellbinding hamlet prospering in the laps of the majestic Himalayas called Barot.

With a population of not more than a thousand, this little place is settled amid wilderness with kangra valley on one side and Mandi on the other, divided by the pristine Uhl river that is the most beautiful attribute of the whole village.

Though it took more than 12 hours to reach the place and tiredness was dripping from every inch of my body  yet as soon as the cool mountain air touched my skin, my worn out self was replaced by a much more refreshing persona. I was engrossed now, cherishing the undeniable beauty of this yet another treasure of the Himalayas.

The bus from ISBT dropped me off at Mandi Bus Stop around 10 in the morning and after necessary inquiry I took a bus for Ghatasni. Another bus would have dropped me off at Barot directly but it was scheduled for 2 p.m and I didn't want to wait for another 4 hours. I took the bus and it was one heck of a ride. All the bumps and bruises were on my head and back were the result of this ride. I was dropped at Ghatasni and from there I took a cab which cost me 200 bucks and tada finally I witnessed beauty in its truest sense. Barot, you have my heart.

Recognizing the full worth of the little hamlet, I strolled through every inch and corner of this village and enjoyed a little chat with adorable people there who called this little Himalayan treasure their home. I stayed at Sachin's and got a family room because the single rooms were all booked. It cost me 600 bucks without food. There was nothing much to do there except for appreciating the beauty of the place. Sitting by the Uhl river was the most amazing. Lohardi, another village organized a kind of mela and someone suggested me to not miss the fare. I went there and the weather there was as amazing as one can imagine. After spending an hour or two I came down to Barot. There was also a natural spring by the river that caught my attention. The picture would explain what fun it was to make my way there, also because it was a segregated area and was absolutely dreamy. The water was also held through a damn of which I did not inquire much because my whole attention was towards the silvery water of the gushing Uhl river and what a beauty it was.

Food in the village was also delicious and was not very costly too. I had proper Indian breakfast in the day and chicken crusted plate for dinner. The simplicity and honesty of the people from the hills have always charmed me. And people here were no less. One instance being I ordered egg noodles for myself and could not eat even half of it. The kind owner of the restaurant charged only half the amount. I insisted though but he did not take it. Such warm people.

One thing I love to mention, every time when I write about the hills is the bewitching nights. The twinkling stars that give an impression of falling from the sky any minute because they seem so close from the hills. I can gaze at them all through the night and I tend to not fall asleep when in the hills. Because I don't want to miss the nights in the Himalayas. Such beautiful thing it is to witness the beauty of the pearly white moon and pretty little stars, oh I can just watch them over and over.

So this was all about Barot. I would suggest you to visit the place only if you want to have a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of city life. If this is what you are looking for, then Barot should definitely be on your list.

Windchimes.

I kept dancing to the tunes
that faded long ago.
I waited for the song to revive
and fill my soul with light,
once more.
I woke up every day
with a hope to conquer
the unfinished goodbyes
but every night
this unique symphony
played in my dreams,

the song about the one long gone.
Little whispers of that outstanding voice,
held me tight all through the night.
It chased my mind and captured my heart
but parched away,

with each morning light.
That quintessential music.
It left me wanting more,

all through the night,
in my dreams,
it left me wanting more.
When in reality,
all I could hear was
the impish wind

frolicking with the beguiling
windchimes.

He

I don't know if it's right or wrong
or may be I do
but the scent of his shirt
and the glitter in his eyes
makes me lose my mind
Every single time.

Scars

The world around me spun
and yet they walked away
Their eyes closed.
And souls shut.
Nothing was left behind
other than
a little scar in my heart
a little guilt in theirs.

In a Whirlwind of Emotions.

So I've learned to sit with myself. Being away from home,I sat by myself before, a lot, sure yeah but now I have LEARNED to sit with myself....thanks to these past few weeks( read years). I wake up in the middle of a night and I feel sick...I know I'm spinning..my head is..that's my sinus talking. First thought that hits me every morning when  I wake up is of getting up without hurting myself due to the 'chakkars' that may or may not pay a visit.

I think I've cried a lot...still there's a monstrous pain hiding somewhere deep within..that refuses to come out.I hate sharing my thoughts, emotions or anything like with anyone..actually I'd love to share but I hate explaining...explaining thyself is tough especially when you aren't yourself very sure of what's bugging you. And when I do..I'm at my worst..I'm ugly..not many have seen this ugly that sleeps somewhere within this otherwise a happy girl next door. And probably most of the time..the person closest to my heart suffers a LOT due to this outburst of emotions that comes out in a rather pathetic way.

I have been a part of a hell lot of negativity too for past few years...but then there were some amazingly true and kind people in my life too...and I love them with the bottom of my heart ..and I loved a few who never deserved an iota of me ! Well, have finally dusted away them all and I'm blissfully left with all those who bring nothing but happiness and peace in life. But there's a pain..a monster..that pulls me back in time..or this abyss that is full of nothing but darkness. It's just sad. I want to get out of it and never come back but it overpowers me to a limit that makes me drive my head against the wall.
Nonchalantly, it gets me closer to the ultimate sin of envy..jealousy..discontentment..of all the stupid things I can think of. I need to find a way to stop it from growing on me...I must and I will.

I overthink. I think this is the monster. I'm overthinking the shit out of life. Yes. I'm trying to get a grip but very honestly speaking, I fail everytime..but I'm not giving up..not yet.I think this and a kind heart is what makes me a beautiful person ..yes. I know I will get over it too. Why? Because I'll always have you dear blog to listen and understand me wayyy better than people...well I want to share stuff here...this is my escape and I'm glad I'm here.*smiles*

I think even a hundred pages would fall short of bringing out the tornado that's been taking place inside of me but nobody will and should help me get out of this weirdly dissatisfying situation. I hope I feel better as soon as I finish this post and go back to bed tonight. It's 2 A.M already.

Amidst all this unending mess of emotions and apprehensions there's one thing I happily want to share...it's my new found love for painting..I've only started days back and I need to learn a lot...but I find it extremely fulfilling. Hopefully I'll start taking guitar lessons soon..that's been on my list forever.

I hope my next post would be much more joyous and gleeful. I feel better atleast for now. Thank you dear blog you did it again. Today is a new day. Today is THE new day. So I'll let the sun shine and dance in my favourite shoes and smile because that makes me & the world beautiful. Speaking of being happy here's a happy song that made past few days a little better for me..Enjoy if you're having a hard day too.

P.S- *Words*- You're my best friend. :)

Candles.

Source: Deviantart.com

Blazing bright flames
glimmering white candles
fabulous yellow
a shade of joy.
Do you see?
How blithely,
it explodes across the darkness?
Radiant and evanescent
like a poignant dream
it melts away with after glow.
So unwind the string,
and dance away with glee.
For the light may fade
but memories shall stay.
