From the first chapter of this
book to the last, I just couldn't put it down!
Kudos to the author for for putting together an extraordinary story, and further narrating it in a fascinating way.
Starting from the cover of the book, which did mild justice to the plot, the story unfolds a yarn of compelling circumstances from different decades and times.
The characters of this book will touch your heart with their individual stories. The story revolves around a ruthless and powerful man who, even though, was arrogant but somewhere deep down, possessed a soft heart that was wrecked due to a melancholic past incident, his son who was a lonely man and loved his daughter beyond anything else but does something merciless that accounted to 'honor killing' , more because his father, the ruthless politician, seemed to have an unusual hate for the lower caste.
It was only when the father's (Kartar Singh) ex-lover, comes to meet him and decides to go beyond what the eyes see and unravels the heart wrecking story behind the drastic change in the personality of Dilawar Singh who once was young boy and very much in love with a girl.
It gets more complex and yet interesting as she tries to dig deeper into the past, and comes across certain incidents that turn the tables completely!

The story gets more intense and full of emotional ruckus and powerful feelings that unfurl through the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, partition and other convolutions, as Sarah tries her best to figure out the culprit of honor killing in Dilawar Singh.
It gets more complex and yet interesting as she tries to dig deeper into the past, and comes across certain incidents that turn the tables completely!
The only thing that struck a negative chord was that
somewhere, I felt that the chapters of the book were a little more descriptive
than required.
But once again I’d like to mention that the author has done an amazing job as a storyteller.
